JOURNALISM

Giles Chapman has been a motoring journalist for 20 years, starting his career with Classic & Sports Car magazine at Haymarket Publishing in 1985. By 1988, he had a regular column in Autocar magazine and, until 1994, his work appeared in numerous Haymarket titles. Since going full-time freelance in 1994, his writing has appeared in countless magazines and newspapers. In particular, his regular ‘Cars That Time Forgot’ series was a fixture of the Daily Telegraph’s Saturday Motoring section. Other newspapers he writes for include The Independent (features and obituaries), Daily and Sunday Express, Sunday Times, Financial Times and Mail on Sunday. He is also a regular contributor to BBC Top Gear magazine, Auto Express, and Test Drive the Automobile Year international yearbook, and has been commissioned many times to write for customer magazines for such marques as Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Chrysler Jeep, Fiat, Land Rover, Lexus, MG, the RAC and Vauxhall.

Since 1994, he has also edited one-shot magazines for IPC, the Daily Telegraph and Haymarket Publishing, including the official catalogue for the British International Motor Show, and Get Motoring magazine.
